And the craziest thing of all is that I watched this as a kid and despite not enjoying much of it, was *thrilled* to be seeing the guys from Star Wars again, the ships, the guns, the robots.
Cause in the 70's, I had to wait for Star Wars to come to theaters again. Ah, life before the VCR.

Ah, memories.
I've not seen it with the Rifftrax, but there surely would have been ample material for one.
It's hard to believe that CBS/20th Century Fox even greenlighted the thing.
Variety was already a dying genre then, and shows like this were a big reason why.
I remember watching it at age 14. I was excited for anything Star Wars after spending a good chunk of my lawn mowing money watching A New Hope over and over and picking up a good chunk of the EU stuff that came out then (Splinter of the Minds Eye, the Brian Daley Han Solo series, etc.), but I watched it and yeah, the thrill was seeing Han, Luke, Leia, and Chewbacca. The not thrill was pretty much...everything else.
I found it on YouTube, and watched about as much as I could stand a couple of years ago when it's 30th Anniversary went by...that amounted to less than 10 minutes.
