One of the best things that helped Icons was Gareth's decision to App-Price the books. It didn't hurt you as a third-party publisher either.

I've even bought the Icons corebook, and I have absolutely no idea when I will get around to running it. I picked it up when Adamant was doing their $1 Anniversary sale in December along with a bunch of other 3.5 OGL/d20 Modern stuff (yeah, I still run d20 Modern).

It also helps you that you've really turned out what is a first class setting for a game that needs a lot more of that sort of thing.

Yeah, I'm really proud of the work we've been doing for ICONS.

And its awesome to hear folks are still playing d20 Modern.

I made my Mecha Omega compatible with d20M because I still have so much affection for the system.

yaknow - Gareth just tweeted that he thinks his app pricing model has failed.
Apparently he's going to have a blog post about it on Monday

I just checked Adamant's site, and, as of 4/4/11, they did away with the app model. Gareth's comments can be found here: http://gmskarka.com/2011/04/04/a-failed-experiment/
